The 2012 event is sponsored by SEACHILL ltd, Wilkin Chapman Grange, Clarkeson Recycling, and the Oaklands Garden Centre - to whom the Club are very grateful.
The main aim of the competition and exhibition is to promote local talent, increase aspiration, give young painters a higher profile and encourage all young people with art endeavour.
There are now seven entry categories.
A memento trophy and certificate is awarded to the winner and runner up of each category ( Foundation Stage {3-5 years}, Key Stages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, and the 'Inclusion Stage') Also the winner of each category's school has a shield awarded. There is also a 'Presidents cup' awarded, as well as many Judge's merit awards.
The Painter judged as 'Young Painter of the Year' received a Cup, which along with the school Shields annual award for each keystage, is displayed at the winners' schools until the following year. All pupils having a painting showing in the Exhibition receive a certificate.
There is no restriction in subject as we wish to fit in with the curriculum as much as possible and we love to see a wide variation in paintings.
